Pushing The Limits Review!

Sorry ive been a bit absent lately, I had a hand in date for uni which kept me a bit busy, so I forgot a bit about blogging! Sorry guys, I will be back on form again soon :). Anyway heres a review of Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry!

'No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with “freaky” scars on her arms. Even Echo can’t remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.
But when Noah Hutchins--the smoking hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket--explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo’s world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.
Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she’ll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.'

So I bought this book on the off chance that it would be an interesting read a while back. I sort of forgot that I had bought it, until the other night when I got bored and found it. I have to say that I loved this book, and felt bad for not reading it as soon as I had bought it!

Right so this book is mainly about Echo and Noah, two teens, from different worlds, that are going through counselling for different reasons. Echo used to be the popular girl, but a major event left her as an outsider and a freak, and Noah is the bad boy, that every story seems to contain, who is trying to help his family. So obviously they meet and chemistry grows, they delve into the past and uncover the secrets hidden there. It is a pretty basic plot but its so well written that it makes a really powerful story, that keeps you sucked in the whole time! The book runs by alternating narrative between Echo and Noah, which I found a really good, as it kept it really interesting. I like alternating narratives as you get to see the story progressing from both views, not just the one character. Don't deny it we always want to know what the other characters are thinking!

Its not long until you figure out that Echo and Noah are made for each other, and their romance really helps to keep you hooked, its just so believable that they would be together. I loved them together and separately, Echo was written in a way that made it harder to relate to her, which of course is a goo thing, I don't think many of us could relate to what happened to her! Noah is made a little easier to relate to, the love he has for his brothers and the troubles he goes through can be related to, even if you have not been through it yourself, probably because it involves a true love for family.

The book runs by alternating narrative between Echo and Noah, which I found a really good, as it kept it really interesting. Well I can truly say that this is a great book, and I don't regret buying it for one second! It was a nice change to read something a little more serious and slightly more hard hitting than the fantasy stuff I have been reading lately! Its definitely a book I would recommend to everyone!

Bye for now :)

Waiting on Wednesday!

It's been a while since I posted my last 'Waiting on Wednesday' post, and since then most of the books that were featured in it have been released! So I thought it was time to do another one! I also thought I would try making the post a little different/ look better!

I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.
Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together was shattered. He was betrayed by someone we both called a friend, and I lost him. Now our enemy is determined to rule over France’s immortals, and willing to wage a war to get what they want.
It shouldn’t be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he’s not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him.
After what we’ve already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying—to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others—so that we could be together. How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?

This is the third and final instalment in the Revenants series by Amy Plum, which is a series that I really like, and I know I can't wait for this release! Only have to wait until May 2013!

If the only way to save the world was to destroy what you loved most, would you do it?

The clock is ticking. Everyone must choose.

Passion. Power. Secrets. Enchantment.

Danger closes in around the Shadowhunters in the final installment of the bestselling Infernal Devices trilogy.

This is the third instalment in The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare! I only recently read the first two in this series but I loved them, and got sucked in as much as I did with The Mortal Instruments! This is released March 2013.

I am waiting for other releases but some of them are so far off (some in 2014!!) so I thought I would leave them until nearer the time!

Bye for now :)

Hush, Hush Review!

I have been ranting on a few times about Finale coming out, so I thought I would start reviewing the series! So here is the first in the series Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick!

'Falling for the fallen...
For Nora Grey, romance was never part of the plan. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgement.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora isn't sure if she can trust him. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and to know more about her than her closest friends. And when she tries to seek answers, she discovers she is right in the middle of a centuries-old battle between the immortal and the fallen... and it's time to take sides.'

I recently had to read this book again as I last read this book quite a while ago, and with the fourth and final book coming out I thought it was best to read the whole series again, and I loved it just as much as I did the last time I read it! I swear it never gets old or boring!

I do love a book about angels, mainly the fallen ones, so what could be more perfect that this book? That is exactly what I thought when I was buying this book, and it did not disappoint, it really was perfect!

The characters in this book are pretty much as you expect to be honest! But not in a bad way, in a very very good way! It includes the strong female lead and the bad boy angel, which we expect and want right? Nora (I love that name, its so different) is the main character who delves into the world of 'the immortal and the fallen'. I found that I really enjoyed reading about her, she is very strong and witty, and holds her own! Patch is Patch really! The sexy and sarcastic bad boy fallen that falls for Nora! Could I just have Patch please?

Plot time! Well what can I say? It is the kind of plot I like the most, fast paced, but obviously not speeding so fast that you loose track of what the hell is happening. It keeps you excited and doesn't allow you to get bored! I liked how things progressed at a rate you would expect them to in real life, and how things were found out and accepted by Nora.(I know that is a bit vague but I don't want to include too many spoilers in this part of the review).

The book ends in a way that made me rush out to buy Crescendo (book 2 in this series), as I absolutely needed to know what was going to happen! It is a must read book for anyone that enjoys a good fallen angel story, but also for any other reader! I definitely recommend it guys!

Bye for now :)

What I'm Reading Right Now!

This seemed like a pretty obvious post to do, especially as I haven't actually mentioned things I am currently reading, only things I have read.

The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Prince - Cassandra Clare

Im nearly at the end of this book now, and it has been a great book! I already have my next read lined up and as I have mentioned before, it will be a re-read of Hush, Hush series, so I can remember the story properly before reading Finale!

Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick

Keep an eye out as I will be posting quite a few reviews in the next week hopefully!

Bye for now :)
